The Other Wes Moore

As it was getting late, the girl Wes was with asked him to walk her out. As he did there was a man named Ray outside yelling at the girl. Wes started to walk away when the man started yelling at him. Ray then started beating Wes up on the ground. Wes got away and went up into his room and got a gun. Wes had Tony's voice in his head telling him to, "send a message." Wes then went outside and the girl was yelling at him to stop. Wes ignored her and went to go find Ray. One of Wes's partners in the drug business saw Wes and went to help him. The men chased Ray to his house firing shots at him. This woke up the whole neighborhood. One of the shots that the boys fired hit Ray which caused him to scream. The boys ran away, but the police came to Wes's house later and arrested him for attempted murder. This scene is very important to the book. This scene is the direct cause of Wes's first time in prison. After shooting Ray, Wes gets sentenced to prison for a few years. This scene also shows that Wes is not on the right track for a good life because of his bad choices.
