- The girl's relatives met with Richard and the doctor but when they saw Mr. Hyde they wanted to kill him but he wasn't afraid of that.

- They threatened Mr. Hyde to tell what he had done to the girl, regardless of his enemies and friends.

- Mr. Hyde seeing what was happening said: tell me how much you want, and they asked you 10 pounds for the girl's family to which he agreed.
- Hyde was cornered and could not escape but he led them to that building and opened the door with a key, he took his time until he came out with 10 pounds of gold and a check with the rest of the money, it was signed by someone else.
- Richard wondered why the check was signed by another person which wasn't Hyde if apparently no one else lived in that building, but when he saw Edward Hyde he told him to be calm because he would wait for the bank to open.
