- Isolation of himself and Susan in Xanadu without letting them leave or anyone in, he does this out of pride and excessive control over events that happen.

- After Kanes loss of the election, his marriage to Susan becomes the turning point towards better fortune.
- KANE CAUGHT WITH "SINGER"
- Kane picks up the snow-globe and says "Rosebud" and he truly realizes the root of his pain.
- Nemesis: Susan's absence. Catharsis: When Rosebud is burning at the end of movie, the audience feels sympathy for Kane.
