- In July 4, 1776, The US became independent, but the fighting continued until September 3, 1783.
- Things need to change!
- The first version of the Constitution was the Articles of the Confederation. Much of the influence and control was given to the
- We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
- Because of a lack of compensation to veterans of war, and the constant taxation of the state, farmers in Massachusetts rebelled. The national government was unable to stop the conflict, evidencing that it needed more control.
- According to the fourteenth amendment...
- A lot of things had to be considered, so a lot of discussions between educated men were common. Finally, a document was written by one James Madison in 1787.
- The US Constitution is the basis for one of the best systems of government that exist to this day. Although some amendments have been made to it, it remains the "world's longest surviving written charter of government"
- That is not the end of the story. Even today, changes have been done in how systems work and how the constitution is interpreted.
