  • Welcome to the Mitochondria where it produces ATP, NADH, FADH2 (electron carriers!)
  • The electron carriers are hen moved to the cristae for the electron transport chain
  • Each Acetyl-coA will bind with oxaloacetate to form a 6 carbon citrate
  • 2 carbons are removed from the citrate and released as carbon dioxide and the rest are regenerated to started the cylce all over again
  • By the end of this cycle, 2ATP, 6NADH and 2FADH2 are formed
  • Electrons from NADH and FADH2 are passed along the chain and release energy to move hydrogen protons across the cell membrane
  • Wow!
  • In this process NADH and FADH2 will release hydrogen atoms to help produce ATP
  • The ions then rush back producing force to spin the ATP synthase and generate ATP
  • Wow! Thank you for helping me!!
  • It plays a big role in all living things and without it life as we know would not exist!
  • To summarize, cellular respiration is the breakdown of glugose with complex process to create energy
  • Cellular respiration is an essential process for all organisms
  • After cellular respiration you produced 38 ATP!
