  • The next stage is the S stage where the cell copies all the DNA after the DNA is copied there's an extra set of all the genetic material the cell moves into the G2 stage. In this phase the cell grows and begins preparing for mitosis.
  • The first phase is the interphase, In this phase 3 steps take place, The G0 stage is a time span in which the cell is neither dividing or preparing for division. The next is the G1 stage where the cell prepares to divide.
  • The next phase that takes place is the prophase which marks the beginning of mitosis. Chromosomes begin to condense and coil. The nuclear membrane disappears and the nuclear envelope breaks down.
  • The next phase is the metaphase. In this phase, the spindle fiber attaches to the protein and aligns the chromosomes along the center.
  • The next phase is the anaphase. The chromatids turn into chromosomes and the chromosomes are pulled towards opposite sides of the cell.
  • The next phase after the anaphase is telophase. In this phase an identical set of chromosomes have been pulled to the opposite side of both cells. The nuclear envelope also reforms, and the spindle fibers break apart.
  • And finally, the last phase is cytokines which is the final step in the cell cycle. In this phase the cells pull apart from each other to form 2 identical daughter cells.
