- The relationship between democratic U.S. and communist Soviet Union had always been uneasy.The United States got involved to try and stop the spread of communism.
- 9/11 Terrorist Attack
- American spy planes ended up discovering that Cubans were secretly building bases for nuclear missiles that were 90 miles away from Florida.Reason for U.S. involvement was to stop the placement of nuclear missiles on Cuba.
- Korean War 
- North Vietnam and China wanted communism for Vietnam while South Vietnam and the United States wanted democracy for Vietnam.The U.S. got involved to stop the spread of communism in Southeast Asia and to help an ally.
- Al- Qaeda set up a series of terrorist attacks on being on the World Trade Center located in New YorkThe reason for involvement was because Al-Qaeda terrorists took control of commercial jet planes and crashed them into the WTC and the Pentagon.
