- When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning or in rain.
- When the hurlyburlys done, when the battle's lost and won
- That will be 'ere, the set of sun
- Macbeth and his friend Banquo just finished a battle and go home to meet the 3 witches. They tell Macbeth he'll become king of Scotland and Thane of Cawdor. Also, Banquo's descendants will be kings. They are both very shocked.
- Soon, the current king (King Duncan) makes Macbeth Thane of Cawdor due to his bravery in the battle. This excites Macbeth as what the Witches said is coming true. Lady Macbeth gets excited by this too, so excited in fact, that when she hears King Ducan is coming to their house, she plots to kill him so that her husband can be king.
- Evil spirits helped Lady Macbeth kill the king, but she talked Macbeth into doing the actual deed. Lady Macbeth put daggers next to the servants to make it look as though they had killed the king. In the morning, Macduff discovered the king's body, however, Macbeth then kills the servants so that they did not reveal that they were innocent and said that he killed them as he was angry that they killed the king.
- no-one born of women will kill you.
- Beware of Macduff.
- King Duncan's sons are worried that they might be though of as suspectsor someone might want to kill them too, so they decide to run away. in the meantime, Macbeth is crowned king as Malcom and Donaldbain have run away. Everything is going as planned, however, Macbeth remembers that his best friend's son is meant to become king too. this can not happen...
- Macbeth decides that Banquo and his son, Fleance, must die too. However, the plans goes a bit wrong. Banquo dies but Fleance escapes. When at a royal feast, the ghost of Banquo comes to Macbeth but no-one else can see him. Macbeth then visits the witches to see their prediction for him now.
- This time the witches say different. Macbeth is confused, but the 'beware of macduff' keeps playing on his mind. Macduff is in England, but Macbeth has his family killed anyway.
- You will be safe until the trees move towards you.
