  • Too many people have already died, don't you think?
  • Yes, it is time for this to end
  • The Entente Powers: Great Britain, France, Serbia and Imperial Russia, fought against the Central Powers: Germany and Austria-Hungary. Initial enthusiasm faded as the war bogged down in a stalemate of costly battles and trench warfare, particularly on the Western Front.
  • In April 1917, a shift occurred when Germany's unrestricted submarine warfare policy brought the United States out of isolationism and into the center of the conflict, along with the steadily increasing blockade of German ports, ultimately helped shift the balance of the war effort in favor of the Entente.
  • The war lasted from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918, leaving more than nine million dead. Until it ended with the signing of an armistice between the two opposing sides: the Triple Entente and the central powers of the Triple Alliance, this was called the Treaty of Versalle.
