Storyboard Text

  • Brutus' speech- Ethos 
  • "Caesar loved me, so I weep for him:Caesar had a good fortune, so I celebrated it:". 
  • Brutus' speech- Pathos
  • "It's not like I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome  more". 
  • Brutus' speech- Logos
  • "His death has been recorded in the Capitol. The glories he was worthy of in life have not been diminished, nor have the wrongs for which he was killed been exaggerated".  
  • Brutus is using ethos to convince the audience that he is more honorable. He uses ethos by stating Caesars love for him. He is using an honorable source to make himself look better to the audience and for the murder look better. 
  • Antony's speech- Ethos 
  • "But here's a document with Caesar's seal which I found it in his private room."
  • Brutus is tying in his emotion to his speech to touch the audience. He is using his "love for Rome" as a way to convince that the murder was out of love. 
  • Antony's speech- Pathos
  • "I come speak at Caesar's funeral . Caesar was my friend. faithful and just to me". 
  • Brutus is using logic or reasoning to support his reasoning. He is stating how Caesar's death has been recorded and that his glories will forever live. 
  • Antony's speech- Logos 
  • "The bad things men do live on after their deaths, but the good things are often buried with their bones". 
  • Brutus is using character credibility to persuade the audience to feel for Caesar. By using character credibilty, he uses Caesar's will. The purpose of this is to grasp the audiences attention. 
  • Brutus is persuading the audience by using his emotion. He directly speaking to the audience with his emotion and with power in his words. Readers can tell that he is trying to persuade directly by using his raw emotion.  
  • Brutus is using logic and reasoning to  persuade the audience. He is stating that in life your legacy takes after the bad you did and not the good. People will always remember what wrong you committed and never the good.
