The Battle of Lake Erie

The Battle of Lake Erie was a major win for the United States. This win ensured that the United States had control over Lake Erie and precluding any territorial cession in the Northwest to Great Britain.
The Bombing of Fort McHenry
This was another victory for the United States against the Creek Indians who were British allies. This resulted in the vast cession of their land.
The Battle of New Orleans
British troops marched into Washington D.C and set fire to many important American land marks including the U.S Capitol, the President's Mansion, and many other local landmarks.
The Treaty of Ghent
The British believed the only way to get past Fort Mchenry was to bomb it but it ended up being a failed attempt. This failed attempt forced the British to abandon their land assault.
The Battle of New Orleans was the final major battle of the War of 1812. It was fought after the the Treaty of Ghent but no one knew that yet. The United States won this battle but it didn't make a big different in the Treaty of Ghent.
This treaty ended the War of 1812, it was signed on December 24th, 1814 by the British and American representatives. The treaty stated that all conquered territory was to be returned.
