  • We have to take action
  • June 17
  • We need to disembark and go to lower Charleston, where we will force them to fight or die.
  • The Beginning of the Battle
  • The Patriots and their Generals William Prescott, and Israel Putnam move to a Breed's Hill and set up a wall, for battle. The next morning the British see the wall and are stunned. General Thomas Gage and William Howe know they have to take action.
  • The Bloodbath
  • On June 17, Thomas Gage orders his troops to get off of their ships,  and go to lower Charleston where they forced the Patriots to either fight or die. The Patriots are on alert behind their wall.
  • Hand to Hand Combat
  • Led by General William Howe the British climb Breeds Hill in perfect formation. William Prescott the general of the patriots exclaims, "Don't waste all of your powder. No shooting until you see the whites of their eyes. "
  • The End Results
  • We may have lost but we will win the next one!!
  • When the British troops neared the wall, the Patriots unleash tons of bullets, making a slaughter. The British retreat back to their line as they leave the bloodbath.
  • Finally on the third try, the British succeeded in breaking through the Patriots wall, and that was just when the Patriots ran out of powder. Hand to hand combat occurred, and the British won.
  • The British had one but at a cost. They had lost 1,054 British troops while as the Patriots lost 450. The Patriots loss pushed them to do better and beat the British in their upcoming battles. They wanted to win for all of the people who lost their lives.
