Hello today I will be teaching you about local government. First we will learn about the Executive branch! The executive branch is the person in charge like our current of Louisville Greg Fisher he also works with the city council to make laws and taxes.
The Judicial branch is city courts they take care of all the crimes and problems in Louisville. They interperate laws each judge is voted into court or appointed.
The final branch of local government is legislative branch. The legislative branch is in charge of making taxes for the city fixing roads they also get to work with the mayor they are called the city council.
The state level of government is a bit different. First I will explain the Executive branch the Governor is in charge, our governor is Matt Bevin who makes state laws makes roads and other state needs. He works at the state capital in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The second state level branch of government is Legislative. Congress is in charge of this branch connected to the Senate and the House of Representatives. Their job is to establish taxes raise them if needed. They are all elected into part.
The last branch of government is judicial branch which is the supreme court that is located in the state capital it has a panel of judges that are called justices. Their job is to decide if someones actions go against the constitution or if there are financial problems that can't get fixed so that is their job to figure it out.
