I have indeed. no fear of pain, but only fear of its result of terror. He’s not scared of the pain or fear he is suffering but only what happens after death.
He told me what he believed to be the nature of his illness it was, he said a family sickness and one from he could not hope to grow better. He thinks that the fear or sickness he is suffering was from the family and could not get better.
And now the increase in this strangeness of his face had caused so great a change that I almost did not know him. Roderick looked so different that the narrator did not even recognize him.
