GOOD MORNING KIDS! TODAY, WE ARE AT THE MUSEUM TO KNOW ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO CONTRIBUTED IN THE CELL THEORY! ARE YOU READY TO KNOW ABOUT THEM?
YES WE ARE READY TEACHER!
ZACHARIAS JANSSEN
Hans Janssen and his son, Zacharias Janssen, invented the first primitive microscope in 1590, which contributed to cell theory.
ROBERT HOOKE
In 1665, he examined very thin slices of cork and discovered a plethora of tiny pores that resembled the walled compartments in which a monk would live. Hooke named them cells as a result of this association.
He made a simple microscope that magnified at 250x. He was the first to discover bacteria and protozoa. He was the first to see the bacteria, which he called animacules.
ANTONY VAN LEEUWENHOEK
BARTHELEMY DUMORTIER
He was the first scientist to observe plant reproduction through cell division. He published his findings in 1832, naming the process he witnessed binary fission.
He came to the conclusion that all plant tissues are made up of cells and that an embryonic plant developed from a single cell. He stated that the cell is the fundamental building block of all plants.
