- New York is its own country! We don't agree with joining together for we are strong on our own!

- I've got it! We shall give the Federal Government no power! They do not have the right to boss us around, so we simply won't listen to them!

- The Articles Were Simply a Bad Constitution

- The Articles of Confederation created an alliance of states that only cared for their own states instead of the United States as a whole, which was what was intended.
- Since many, many people in the 13 colonies did not agree with the idea of a strong central government that would "rule" over them, the Federal Government was given little power and suffered greatly. They spent time and effort bringing together laws that would benefit the United States, but their actions were ignored by the people.
- They were not 100% thought through, and they did not stick. Instead of bringing the states together, it spread them further apart. The Articles of Confederation, even though a sound attempt, failed miserably.
