In the beggining of "The Lottery" everyone in the town was preparing for their towns lottery event. The boys were for some reson collecting stones and making a large pile while the girls were off to the side chatting amongst themselves
Climax
"Shut up Tessie".
A man who goes by the name of Mr Summers comes out into the town square with an old black box that was used for the lottery every year. Everyone gathers around while he explains how the event works and what everyone will do.
Falling Action
"It's Tessie".
As Mr Summers instructed one man from each family comes up to the stage and takes their turn taking a slip of paper. The woman and children stand anxiously around them watching as they each carfully pull out a slip.
Resolution
"It isn't fair, it isn't right!!!!"
In this part of the story all the men unfold their pieces of paper and a man named Bill Hutchinson gets the paper with the black dot. His wife, Tessie Hutchinson, starts demanding a do over but Bill tells her to shut up.
IT'S BILL
"You didn't give him enough time to take any paper he wanted. I saw you. It wasn't fair!"
Bill, Tessie and their three kids, Nancy, Bill Jr, and dave, all go up to choose a slip of paper from the box. After all of them take out a piece of paper they all open them at the same time and Tessie gets the one with the black dot
All of the villagers go collect some stones from the large pile that the boys had made ealier. They all prepare and start happily throwing the rocks at Tessie as she shouts "It's not fair, it's not right!"
