Storyboard Text

  •  Exposition
  • " Come, Daeladus, and bring your son, Icarus, too. I have a job for you, and I pay well."
  • " What is it for?" asked Daeladus. " Is it a treasure vault? Is it a prison to hold criminals?"
  • Rising Action
  • " So I'm afraid I must keep you and Icarus here a little while."
  • " How much longer?"
  • Rising Action
  • " But to work for such a wicked man, Icarus! And to be prisoners all our days! ... We shan't stay. We shan't!
  • "But I like it here, " he said. The King gives us gold and his tall tower to live in." Icarus Said
  • There was a King that ruled an Island that was called Crete, his name was Minos. He was traveling along and found a famous inventor named Daedalus. He asked Daedalus to build him a palace.
  • Climax
  • " Get up, Icarus, and don't make a sound. We are leaving Crete."
  • Once the Palace was finished King Minos put a creature in the maze.  It was a half man half beast that fed on men and women. Daeladus got scared and wanted to leave Crete, but the King said No.
  • Falling Action
  • King Minos kept Icarus and Daeladus in the palace Daeladus had made. They were kept as prisoners but they lived in the tallest part of the castle Daeladus was sad. But one thing Daeladus loved was putting seeds on the windowsill for the birds, he loved to see the birds pretty colors.
  • Resolution
  • "Think you're the highest thing in the sky, do you?" he jeered. " I can fly just as high as you! Higher, even!"
  • Daeladus started thinking of a way to get out of the palace. Daeladus thought of a way and every time the birds came he would asked them to spare one of their feathers. Daeladus worked all night to get his new invention done, and finally he got it done.
  • " But how? Its impossible!"
  • Daeladus had showed Icarus what he had made, they were wings.  Daeladus put wax on the shoulders of Icarus so the wings would stay on him. Daeladus asked his son to put them on him, and they jumped out the window and saw they were flying.
  • " When the wax sets, hard you and I will fly away from here, as free as birds."
  • " I'm Scared !"
  • Daeladus told his son Icarus to have Courage that this would work and they would be able to get away.  Daeladus told Icarus to not go near the sun or fly high and Icarus kept repeating what his dad said. Icarus thought it was so cool that he was flying he didn't follow directions; and the wax melted and the wings fell off.
  • " Don't fly too close to the sun!"
