#### Storyboard Text

• Penny the penguin is afraid of heights. She sees food at the top of the iceberg but wonders if it is too high. She uses trig to figure out the height. She finds out that tan(54) X 70=  96.3. Penny decides an iceberg 96.3 feet high is too big for her
• 54
• 70 ft
• x feet
• x
• Penny moves to a different iceberg and decides to find the angle of elevation this time because she knows the height and distance away from it she is. She finds tan^{-1}(50/20)= 68.2 degrees. Penny decides this iceberg is still too large
• 20 ft
• 50 ft
• I'm too scared to climb an iceberg but how else will I get my food?
• Penny decides to slide down a tiny iceberg into the ocean and catch some fish
• She notices the fish are swimming in circles. She needs to calculate their linear speed in order to time her slid with when she will be able to catch the fish
• The circle in which the fish are swimming in is 2 inches.  They are doing 3 revolutions per minute        By doing         2   (2)(3) he finds that the linear speed of the fish are 37.7 ft/min
• Having calculated the speed of the fish Penny dives in
• SPLASH
• YUMMMMMMM
•  The equation for the waves penny created when she slid into the ocean would be y= 2cos(x (    /4))-2 because the waves have a period of 8 minutes and penny starts at 0 ft and grabs the fish at 4 ft deep. Therefore, the amplitude of the waves would be 0-(-4)/2 = 2  and the midline would be 0+ (-4)/2 = -2
• Penny finally got her food! THE END
