Storyboard Text

  • Thanks for coming James! I really wanted to play with you. Because I've a new game in mind.
  • Is that so? Then, let's get started then. I am very curious about this game of yours
  • All we have to do is to put these things in this water bowl. Let's see what happens.
  • Okay, Let's put them all together.
  • Why do some objects float, while others sink?
  • Clara invited his friend, James from class to play a game. She wanted to play with her water-filled bowl by putting her toys in it.
  • ARCHIMEDES' PRINCIPLE
  • Clara explained on how the game works. After that, Clara and James put all the objects inside the water-bowl.
  • Let's start with defining Archimedes' Principle. Archimedes' principle states that a body immersed in a fluid is subjected to an upwards force equal to the weight of the displaced fluid.
  • If the buoyant force is greater than the object's weight, the object will rise to the surface and float. Just like what happened to the apple.
  • If the buoyant force is less than the object's weight, the object will sink. Just like the toy car and the toy blocks. If the buoyant force equals the object's weight, the object will remain suspended at that depth. Just like the toy zebra.
  • An important factor to this principle is called the Buoyant Force. Buoyant force is the net upward force on any object in any fluid.
  • Both of them are both shocked that some of them flopated and some of them sunk. James and Clara were incredibly curious, so they both ask questions.
  • I also had a lot of fun with you. I hope that we could hang out again. I hope you get home safe!
  • I really had a lot of fun playing with you, Clara. I also enjoyed our little discussions about Archimedes' Principle. But I have to go, because it's getting dark already.
  • Since both of them have no clue, they went to get the computer, and researched about the phenomena. They discovered that the phenomena could be explained by Archimedes' Principle.
  • From their research, Clara and James wanted to have a discussion about Archimedes' Principle. They wanted to apply it to their game.
  • Both of them had a lot of fun, discussing Archimedes' principle. But they had to say goodbye, because it was already getting dark outside.(Morcoso_9-Boyle)
  • Good bye!
