  • An example of dramatic irony is when Montresor makes a cheers to Fortunato's long life, this is dramatic irony because the reader knows that Fortunato is going to die but he does not.

  • An example of dramatic irony is when Fortunato says that he is going to die from a cough, but the reader knows that Montresor is going to kill Fortunato.
