  • It was a clear and sunny morning, June 27th, it was the day of the lottery, everyone gathered in the town square as kids collected rocks and pebbles into a large pile.
  • Climax
  • The man in charge of the lottery Mr. Summers, brings out a black wooden box, and explains the rules. He then makes sure that someone from each family is present.
  • Falling Action
  • Mr. Summers calls a man from each family, to come up and pick their family's slip of paper.
  • Resolution
  • Ok, can the man from each family please come up and draw one
  • Everyone opens their papers, and the family who got the marked paper is the Hutchinsons. The Hutchinsons are Bill and Tessie with their kids, Bill. Jr, Nancy and Dave.
  • ok, everyone open their papers
  • Who is it?
  • I think it’s the Hutchinsons!
  • The Hutchinsons then do another draw, with each of them picking their own paper, Tessie picks the marked paper.
  • It's Tessie. Show us her paper, Bill
  • Tessie doesn't think it's fair, but the villagers use the stones collected earlier by the kids, to complete the ritual of the lottery.
  • Let's finish quickly. Come on, hurry up.
  • IT ISN'T FAIR, IT ISN'T RIGHT!!
