Storyboard Description

No matter how skilled people are, they are never any match for the gods. People need to remember their place, and not try to be stronger or wiser or smarter than the gods, or bad things will happen to them. And good women, because that is their fate, should always be spinning.

Storyboard Text

  • I am Arachne, I had a flair for spinning the finest threads, weaving them into flowing fabric and create magnificent tapestries.
  • Well well, I accept your challenge.
  • I am Athena, the goddess of wisdom and crafts, how dare you claim yourself greater than the god. Now I'm going to challenge you.
  • Arachne have the talent to spin the best threads, weave them into flowing fabrics and make gorgeous tapestries. She refuse to see weaving as a gift from a gods, rather, she flaunted as her own personal genius.
  • Athena had heard of Arachne making this claims, she's planning to teach the ungrateful girl. Then Athena challenge her to a contest, and Arachne accept it.
  • Athena wove tremendous scenes that showed the power of gods
  • But Arachne had no interest in boosting godly egos. Her tapestries shows the gods abusing their power.
  • When Athena saw Arachne's undeniably better and flagrantly subversive work, she flew into rage and turned on the human weaver. Arachne felt her body shrinking and contorting, then Arachne fall in a spider.
  • After it, Arachne and her children spin out her penance.
