Storyboard Text

  • The idea was never going to work. There was to many details they I didn't know. They didn't know how the dugouts where built on the German side therefore not knowing how deep they where and therefore shells did not manage to explode and kill the Germans.
  • The shells being fired was to destroy all the men or most of them the machine guns and their posts. Also they wanted to destroy the barbed wire making it easier to get across. This was never all going to happen with 1.7 million shells.
  • Then once they had fired the shells the front line in the trenched made their way across no man's land ready to defeat the last of the German men standing. This plan wasn't going to happen as the men were ready with their machine guns to kill the English coming their way.
  • The English generals said to keep going with the same plan as it will work after a couple of tries.
  • Then they carried on firing shells for the next 10 days and the plan still did not work
  • Finally I think that this plan was never going to work and it had no hope as there was many things they didn't understand.
