Storyboard Text

  • Time to get back to the kitchen
  • You're women, you cannot vote.
  • Woman worked in the factories while men were at war.
  • Woman are now allowed to vote!!
  • When the men came back from the war they expected the woman to go back to normal. Some woman did not except this because they had already proven that they're just as capable as men to work.
  • What is going on?
  • Woman felt that since they were cpable of working the same jobs as men, they should have the same rights. Men did not feel this way which meant that woman were still not able to vote.
  • Eventually after women had protested and worked to get the same rights, the 19th Amendment was created and it granted woman the right to vote.
  • Afterwards, some woman decided that instead of just being able to vote, they wanted all of the same rights as men. This included smoking, drinking, and wearing whatever they wanted. These women that rebelled were called flappers.
  • Flappers symbolized freedom. This caused fashion for woman to change. It also created more normalization for woman to do things that only men were allowed to do.
