- The very telegram that the German force sent to Mexico in order to make allies with them and to make enemies with us. This was the final straw for the US.

- Due to sneaky behavior and action from the Germans, we decided to take part in the war before we are forced into war.

- on January 8th, 1918 President Wilson released the 14 points which ultimately Led to more trade, new countries and the forming of the league of nations.
- on January 16th, 1919 the 18th amendment in the United States which prohibited the sale of liquors.
- Once the 18th amendment was in affect hoping to reduce crime, it merely did the opposite as speakeasys' and underground businesses started to pop up
