Let's review some math problems while I'm eating my egg mcmuffin! That will be eggselent!
First, I used the stratergy PEMDAS. PEMDAS helps solves equations with more than one step in order. P is parentheses. E is for exponets. M is for multiplication. D is for division. A is for addition. S is for subtraction. You do all these steps in order. If an equation only has 2 steps left, you can finish it left to right.
I'm my teacher, Mrs. Anita's student that she helps with math daily.
OK I love those!
I was thinking we could practice a 2 step equations problem.
Let's practice with this problem. (9 x 4) 8
I got 288 as my answer.
I also got 288! Can you explain it?
So, I did 9 x 4 first because it is in parentheses. It's first from left to right also. I got 36 for the first step.
That's such a good tip to use!
Thanks for learning and great job solving Josh!
The last step I did was multiply 36 by 8. I got 288 for my solution. Thank you for learning about 2 step equations!
