Chpt. 2-Character vs. Nature
"I don't remember touching her, but the next thing I knew, Nancy was sitting on her butt in the fountain, screaming 'Percy pushed me!'" pg. 9 This is important because this is Ms. Dodds' excuse to attack Percy.
Chpt. 4-Character vs. Technology
"Clarisse and her cabin mates came into the creek to get me, but I stood to meet them." pg.122 This is important because Percy find that the water heals him and he breaks Clarisse's spear as well as stands up to them.
Character vs. Character
"'What? I (Percy) said. 'It's a thousand degrees in there."'pg. 26 This is important because Grover is worried because he saw the Fates, and if you see them, someone's going to die, so he doesn't want to get back on the bus.
I can't open it!
"My mother threw herself against the driver's-side door. It was jammed shut in the mud. I tried mine. Stuck too." pg. 48 This is significant because the car is stuck and the Minotaur caught up to them.
"Anger replaced my fear. Newfound energy burned in my limbs-the same rush of energy I'd gotten when Ms. Dodds grew talons." pg.53 This is important because this was how Percy defeated the Minotaur.
