Good Morning team! As you know, we have been receiving lots of orders and can barely keep up with the demand. As of today, Working hours will start 5 minutes earlier, end 5 minutes later. Break time is 5 minutes shorter as well. we need to make these changes for the sake of the business!
OH GOD THIS IS TERRIBLE! Mrs. Stephens did not ask for our input or consider how we would feel about this?! We need to approach the shop steward

As shop steward,, I would like to bring to light the concerns of the workers and how to amicably find a solution to the problem on hand.
Mrs. Stephens, oblivious to the staffs unhappiness with the change in these times, proceeds to end the meeting without asking any of the staff for their input or opinion. A meeting is held with the rest of the employees to introduce the new staff. Mrs. Stephens also makes note to address the staff with the change in working hours, break times and days allocated for off days.

As shop steward, I would like to represent Miss Sarah.
The employees are infuriated with the changes and also the manner in which Mrs. Stephens conducted the meeting. The workers felt that Mrs. Stephens did not consider how these new changes might affect them. The workers decide to speak to the shop steward to liaise on their behalf to remove the changes.

We could incorporate a sleeping bed, so during Sarah's lunch hour she is able to nap, yet feeling energized when she needs to work.
If there is some way in which we can accommodate Sarah, so that we can still be productive, yet allowing Sarah to be more calm
The shop steward begins to liaise with the employer, to keep the working hours the same, and see how much product is produced. If production is not affected then to keep working hours the same and if not, then to increase the amount of hours the staff needs to work with additional pay for those hours.

Sarah is in a disciplinary hearing for being caught sleeping on the job. Sarah suffers from anxiety and fails to speak when she feels threatened or pressurized.
The shop steward, explains to their employer that Sarah suffers from a condition called anxiety and has to take tablets that makes her drowsy, thus, is the reason that Sarah often falls asleep during working hours.
