- Even as a child, Vera Rubin started to like astronomy due to the influence of her father, who has an electrical engineer and encouraged her to use his telescope, built by them, this was fundamental for her choice to continue in the profession
- This interest began at age 5, as she watched the stars together with her father
- In the late 1940s, Vera tried to enroll at Princeton University
- However, when she tried to enroll, she was barred by the university itself. Vera was prevented from going to university because she is a woman

- In 1962, after her education, Vera taught at Montgomery County Junior College. He also worked at Georgetown University
- Despite being discriminated against for being a woman, Vera Rubin won several awards, she was also a pioneer in the study of spiral galaxies
- Vera Rubin was very important in science to break stereotypes, since, in the profession, men always have more prominence and are placed as superiors. She was the living example that it's not true
