  • In "Casey At The Bat" by Ernest Lawrence Thayer. The exposition started by showing a team playing a baseball game and their was only one inning left with the score at 4 to 2. Casey was next up to bat.
  • Climax
  • STRIKE 1
  • In the rising action Casey was next up to bat. Jimmy was at second, Flynn at third. Casey was confident that he would save his team.
  • Falling Action
  • FRAUD
  • KILL THE UMPIRE
  • In the next rising action, Casey was on the plate with a huge smile. He confidently rubbed his hands on the dirt then on his shirt. The crowd was so excited for Casey to hit that ball.
  • Resolution
  • STRIKE 3, BATTER OUT
  • In the climax, Casey didn't hit one of the balls saying it wasn't his style. The umpire said that was strike one. The crowd was furious.
  • That isn't my style
  • In the falling action, the crowd started screaming at the umpire, since he said there were two strikes. They said stuff like they would kill him. Casey got them to stop so he could continue the game
  • In the resolution, Casey had struck out. The crowd was now quiet with disappointment. The text read, "...there is no joy in Mudville-mighty Casey had struck out."
