- There were many disagreements with Mexico and the new settlers.
- Around 1821 the first settles moved into Texas. Texas was owned by Mexico
- At the battle of the Alamo many Texans were killed as they fought for the independance from Mexico
- Oregon Trail
- by the end of the 1850 thousands traveled through this path

- Crow Indians shiwed the pioneers through the Rocky mountains
