Storyboard Text
- The story is set in a mountain village in the Philippines and it begins on the night of the wedding of Awiyao with his second wife, Madulimay.
- Awiyao has separated with his wife, Lumnay, because she could not bear him a child. It is customary in their tribe for a husband to remarry in these situations. Awiyao married Madulimay in hopes of having a child. Lumnay is upset because she loves Awiyao and does not want him to leave.
- Awiyao offers Lumnay with items and the land obtained from the life they spent together. Lumnay refuses all of his offers, claiming she wants him only. She asks, however, to keep the beads his grandmother got her.
- Awiyao leaves to rejoin the wedding ceremony. Lumnay is confused if she should break into the ceremony and tell off the chief of the village about the unfairness of their situation, or if she should leave the village.
- Lumnay runs off into the hills. She watches the wedding ceremony take place from afar. She reminisces about the day she and Awiyao met and how it has all changed now.
- Lumnay is left sitting among the bean plants, contemplating how the world around her would keep revolving while her own world with Awiyao has stopped.
