- Hello! My name is Zion, and today we'll be talking about Danny Trejo (an actor) in this presentation.
- Danny Trejo was born Dan Trejo in Echo Park, Los Angeles born May 16 1944, to Alice Rivera and Dan Trejo, a construction worker. A child drug addict and criminal, Trejo was in and out of jail for 11 years due to being in a really bad environment. While serving time in San Quentin, he won the lightweight and welterweight boxing titles.
- Imprisoned for armed robbery and drug offenses, he successfully completed a 12-step rehabilitation program that changed his life.
- After finding God and sobriety in 1968 which motivated him, Trejo became an advocate for recovery, founding rehab centers and giving his phone number to every addict he met so he could help them break free from the nightmare of addiction.
- After years of playing ex-cons and bodyguards, the prolific actor he wanted to become as part of his legacy, he became an iconic leading man in Robert Rodriguez's Machete series which was one of the main reasons he is famouse, also because of spy kids.
- He did reject overdosing in his lifetime which is why he is sober now, wishing he could have chosen a better path for himself, and where he is today he did it all on his own
- One of his milestones was being sober for 51 years which he has accomplished.
- Crazy how he actually wanted to be known as a man not to mess with and hard to work with but he was actually great at the end
- Overall he lifted himself up all on his own with God by his side, and he still lives on till this day being the one and only Denny Trejo.
