- My experiments showed evidence that atoms were made up of even smaller particles
- I found a particle within the atom that had a negative charge. These became known as electrons.
- I thought an atom was a positive sphere with the electrons mixed through it.

- My name is Ernest Rutherford. My experiments showed that atoms had a nucleus which is a small dense center, that has a positive charge and is surrounded by moving electrons
- After a but more research I found that the nucleus is made up of smaller particles. I called the positively charged particles, protons.
- This is my model of the atom. The electrons are spinning around the nucleus.
