- Dan read the title, The Death of Captain Tory, Dan then read further, " One day in 1899, A ship was leaving from Spain with a shipment of tomatoes, The boat had just left the Mediterranean Sea and was in the Middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. The shipment was supposed to go to the Port of Tampa in Florida, US."
- " It turns out there was a thunderstorm that I wasn't told about, It wasn't just a thunderstorm, Purple Lightning bolts were falling from the sky! I and the crew couldn't focus on the mysterious purple thunderbolts, we had to focus on controlling the ship, just then the purple lightning bolt had hit the sail of the ship. The ship was then surrounded by purple fire! This was weird! How can lightning be purple?!"
- "The schooner had sunk at last as we couldn't control the ship and the ship caught this weird purple fire, After the fire I woke up, I thought I was alive but then I saw myself, I looked like a ghost!, It is like that purple lightning had cursed me!
- " I eventually figured out what happened, I had ended up in a dark world and I want to escape. If you have read this scroll, please help me and my crew escape. Go to the docks of the Port of tampa and use a lantern to burn the scroll you are reading. Then shake the lantern 3 times, My schooner will rise from the sea and I will grant you 3 wishes for helping me escape the dark world. "
- Dan had exited the boat and decided to follow the scroll's instructions, he was curious about the 3 wishes. As Dan was about to burn the scroll, Dan had noticed his young son running towards the docks scared. Dan was 3 hours late to come home, it was 3am and his son, Ben was worried about Dan.
- Dan had told Ben he had found a scroll which would make him rich! Ben was confused and asked him how the scroll would make them rich. Dan had told Ben that if he does a process correctly, he would be 3 wishes. Ben was confused, Ben knew magic and genies were not real. He still was curious about what his dad was talking about.
