Martin Luther became a monk and faithfully followed the church teachings and practices
Luther's doubt grew after he visited Rome. He was shocked to find priests made fun of Catholic rituals.
Luther then nailed up the 95 things wrong with the church on the door of Wittenberg Cathedral
Henry VIII had six wives (not at once) to try and receive a son to keep the Tudors on the Throne.
As his wife, Catherine, grew older he feared she could not have anymore children. At the same time he had fallen in love with Anne Boleyn and wanted to marry her.
The Catholic Church did not allow divorce and the pope refused Henry's request. Soon Henry fought back and had parliament pass the Act Of Supremacy. This act made him the head of new church of England.
