After the incident, months have passed by and because of Mr. and Mrs. White's disagreement with the third wish of the Monkey's Paw, they avoided each other. Never spoke, for months.
Something changed in their family since that night. There was no going back with how it affected them both mentally. And how it affected their relationship together.
Then, Mrs. White almost forgot to bring down her husband. In the excitement she had, Herbert had to ask about him. She quickly went up with Herbert, his fiancée just waited at the dinner table, out of respect.
But one day, Mrs. White went out to throw away some trash. She saw a car in the driveway, and out came her son. She was afraid at first, but she saw the look in his eyes. It was her real son. She couldn't believe it. They all came inside and Herbert even introduced his fiancée to his mother.
But sadly, when they came up, Mr. White was out cold on his bed. They found a note on his desk, stating that he's sorry to his wife for how they've been lately. He did this for her and Herbert because he loved them both so much. The last wish, sacrificed himself so Herbert could have a proper and happy life with his mother.
In the end, no one truly moved on from what happened with the Monkey's Paw. Even with Herbert back, they will always remember why his father hadn't grown to see his beautiful life unfold.
