- Phineas Gage was a foreman for railroad construction One day when Phineas was doing his routine work of setting fuses into the rock bed, he had an accident. This accident is still important today because of what people have learned from his story.
- Are you ready to light the fuse? Everything is ready.
- Yep. get ready to light the fuse and run.
- Phineas dropped his tool causing the dynamite to accidentally go off.
- Get him to the doctor!
- We got him in the cart!
- He's been in an accident! Bring him to town! Quick!
- Phineas was talking to the landlord neighborly after his accident, as if nothing had happened. Townspeople gathered around to see what had happened to Phineas.
- Phineas told the doctor what happened to him. The doctor did not believe him.
- Well, here's enough work for you, Doctor.
