Hungry and tired from all of the adventures they had been on, the crew of Odysseus, persuaded by Eurylochus, defied their oath that they took and began to kill and feat on Helios's cattle.
*Murmurs of excitement*
As the crew entered the strait, they did not see Scylla right away, The crew, now staring at Charybdis, were mesmerized s they watched the deadly whirlpool churn. Seeing the men dazzled, Scylla shot out of its cave and grabbed six men from the ship. Everyone on board panicked, and Odysseus instructed his crew to sail as fast as they could through the strait so that Scylla could not kill the rest of the crew.

After escaping from Scylla and Charybdis, Odysseus and his crew continued on and arrived at the island of Thrinakia, which housed the cattle of the sun god, Helios. Odysseus told his men that they would not stop at the island, but was practically forced to land by his crew, headed by Eurylochus, Odysseus's second in command. Odysseus, allows them to land on the island, if they swear to an oath.
After drifting on a piece of debris, Odysseus found himself being dragged back into the strait towards Charybdis, who spat him out and sent him off in another direction.

Helios, furios that his cattle had been killed, complained to Zeus about Odysseus and his men. As the crew was leaving, Zeus sent a bolt of lightening right through the ship, sinking it and killing everyone except for Odysseus.
