Storyboard Text

  • Well I think you look weird, with that large beak! Also these canyons are very comfortable to live in. I like it a lot.
  • What a weird beak you have! Also that place looks dangerous to live.
  • Whatever it is, it looks dangerous. I should protect myself!
  • Let's huddle together to get warm!
  • Not only do the different species of animals from different environments look different, they have different nervous systems that are going through evolution processes.
  • I feel a sandstorm coming! I should prepare!
  • I hear something...!
  • Primitive systems serving newer functions
  • The two aspects of the evolution of animal nervous system are:
  • Now I can see better in the dark with my adaptive optic lobe!
  • With my new echolocation system, now I can sense things better in the dark!
  • Formations of new systems serving newer functional requirements.
  • . .
  • The long evolution of the human's nervous system
  • Over time, humans' nervous systems have went through evolution based on the environments, and are yet non-stopping. As mammals, humans have a highly developed nervous system with a high degree of cephalization and developed cerebrums and cerebellums.
  • we should start changing soon...
  • Yeah, at least in 100 years or so.
  • Same here. Now that the environments changed a lot.
  • I knew I should mention this someday but we ARE actually in the process right now.
  • I think I'm smart.
  • Oh then. I guess I'm the smartest.
  • Then how would the nervous system evolution systems look like for other vertebrates? For the brain of vertebrates, there is a general trend with the increasing size and complexity of the cerebrum and cerebullum from fish, amphibians and reptiles, and to bird and mammals.
  • I'm smarter though.
  • ...hah!
  • Me too.
  • For me, I have a centralized nervous system with a small ganglia..but you know, this helps me a lot.
  • Invertebrate nervous systems involves of nerve nets, nerve cords, and ganglia.
  • Flatworms
  • I have nerve nets that help me be successful as a predator.
  • Cnidarians
  • Gabin Kim
  • Cephalopods
  • Athropods and I have a brain, and specialized sensory organs.
