  • Haden Edwards received an impresario contract to settle some 300 families by Nacogdoches. When he found out there was old settlers he disrespected them by putting some of the settlers titles to forgeries ,and making the people pay extra for the land they already bought. In 1826 Edwards contract was canceled by the Mexican government because he was not following the rules. Then Edwards and some of his supporters issued the Fredonian declaration of independence. So the Mexican government sent troops, and Stephen. F Austin and his militia also joined the Mexicans so they can help out, and they ended up scaring Edwards and his goons away.
  • The people of Texas have been angry at the Mexican army because Mexico made a law saying "no more Texans allowed in mexico. The Texans were really angered bout it because they have lived there for a while and Mexico keeps taking that away from them . That led to one of the reasons the Mexican Revolution began.
  • On the day November 26 Evatas "deaf" Smith, a Burleson scout, came into camp, he had reported to the commander that more than 100 Mexican soldiers with horses and silver were on their way to San Antonio. Then they sent troops to ambush the Mexican soldiers, and quickly defeated the Mexican troops,but to only find grass instead of silver. This incident was known as the grass fight . But the troops realized that it was a good thing because the Mexican troops still needed to feed their animals.
