- Esperanza lives with her Papa,Mama,and Abueilta on El Rancho de las Rosas, a large vineyard in Mexico Esperanza lives a very lucky life.
- Esperanza gets a very big party for her birthday its an amazing day her Papa gives her a very beautiful doll as a gift.
- Esperanza I have a very nice gift for you it is a beautiful doll.
- Wow!! Wow Papa thank you very much!
- Mama this is such harsh news and so much to take in there is no way I am moving!!
- Your Father has passed away we will have to move to California because your Tio Luis trying to marry me if I say no we could get killed.
- Esperanza receives some tragic news her Papa got killed by bandits Esperanza's heart is broken she finds out she will have to move to California to get away from her disgusting Tio trying to find a way to marry Esperanza's Mama.
- Esperanza and her Mama are on a train ride to California to there new place they will call home she will meet her Tia,Tio,And her Cousins Esperanza doesn't like this new changed her Mama is shocked about this.
- This train stinks this train is meant for a peasant not a girl like me Mama I do not like this change at all..
- Esperanza! You are not allowed to say that you should be greatful that you can even ride a train some people have to walk.
- Esperanza and her Mama arrive to her Tia,Tio,And her Cousins Esperanza tries to learn the things Isebella taught her before Isebella had to go to school and Esperanza had all the responsibilities to take car of the house to do her job while she went to school and while the Adults go to work.
- Yes please Isebella I think I do thank you for being such a great cousin and helping me through this hard time.
- Do you need some help? I can train you and help you any time Esperanza!
- Esperanza learns her lesson about you can't always just get things in life you must work hard for it she grows up to become a hard worker in life .
