- haden edwards ordered people to leave his land but when the government found out, they sided with the colonists. this made haden furious and began to rebel.

- after what mier y teran said, we need new restrictions if we want to save texas
- mexico adopted the constitution of 1824 after mexico became a country which gave americans freedoms and self government. americans supported santa anna because of that.

- mier y teran was sent to investigate texas. he found out that Americans outnumbered Mexicans.

- the government made new laws such as no more immigrants from the US, no more slaves, US items taxed , and troops will be sent to make sure laws are followed.
- texas citizens met to discuss ideas like texas it's own state, immigration permitted, tax exemption, education improvement, and native american protection
- Austin went to mexico to talk to santa anna but he became impatient and wrote a letter about texas' defects and how they should form their own government. that led him to go to jail.
