The Estates General took place in Versailles on May 5, 1789. King Louis XVI was confronted by the commoners about the tax burden. The commoners were unsuccessful in reaching an agreement. This was the beginning of the French Revolution. This event is also lead to a rage by the commoners

The tennis court oath was the last peaceful protest to get the king to abandon the policy and start another. And to get rid of so much of the taxes. They attempted to be peaceful and win the king's thoughts over but fail. Their next attack will become violent

During this night, a state prison on the east side of Paris, known as the Bastille, was mobbed and attacked. When the prison governor refused to comply, they raided the prison and took hold of the building. They wanted in but the prison didn't let it. They became angry and overtook the building using guns

This became one of the most significant events of the French Revolution, eventually forcing the royals to return to Paris. They matched with a purpose and led the royals to return.
