Storyboard Text

  • This is Bob. Bob doesn't know he's in a comic strip. I don't know why Bob is waving.
  • Bob was just taking a stroll, wondering what it would be like to have superpowers. He feels so regular. He heard some commotion across the street.
  • A nuclear bomb had been dropped on Bob's city, releasing tons of harmful radiation and a mushroom cloud that could be seen from a mile away. Bob was lucky enough to not be affected by the shock wave, but as he ran into the city to be a hero and help out the injured civilians, he absorbed a ton of radiation.
  • His city was in shambles. He wad devastated. But he couldn't help but notice how strange he felt, and thought about all the superheroes he loved who acquired powers from radiation.
  • What Bob failed to realize was that we don't see giant green humans and spider men in our cities for a reason, and this reason is that radiation more often than not has extremely negative impacts and mutation which prevent speciation. In order for a new species - here a superhuman - to form, divergence or transformation must occur. Transformations are accumulated changes after a long period of time which lead to a new species, much longer than Bob's life span. Divergence is when a species arises from a parent species, meaning Bob could not be superhuman, but in the right, very low possibility conditions, somewhere down his lineage there may be a kid with a super power. For this to happen, the mutation must provide a selective advantage which will create viable offspring, and not also kill Bob before he is able to have kids.
  • Yeah... sorry Bob.Made by Janhvi:)
