  • When child labor laws were first starting to be considered in 1916, many debates about the well-being of children broke out, and as a result, Franklin Delano Roosevelt passed the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. Through this act, he diplomatically changed the legal work age from as young as 10-years-old to 16 for males and 18 for females, which caused failures in the American economy but successfully removed 2 million children from factories and mines and allowed the youth of America to pursue an education and experience healthier lifestyles.
