In ancient Rome, sporting events such as slave fighting, Gladiator fighting, and chariot races. Chariot races were when the Romans would drive chariots, and if a chariot overturned, the racers could be run over by the competition or they could get trampled by the horses. In a Gladiator fight they would go against other animals, and most likely die.
The ancient Romans often created marble temples for honoring their Gods. They also evolved into using concrete. Soon, the Romans had built huge stadiums like the Colosseum. Things like columns a helped with building sturdy structures.
The Romans admired Greek art and sculptures and borrowed these ideas directly from the Greeks. Clay vessels, also known as pottery, were used to hold food, water, and wine. The Romans often painted black figures on red clay, and made designs on pottery honoring their gods.
