- Housing
- Field slaves had to stay out in the field for hours growing and harvesting things like Cotten and rice. Most slaves worked on large plantations all year round.
- Punishments
- House slaves had an easier time as the work was not as hard but they also had to be more careful because the were under there master or mistresses eye. Many house slaves also thought they were above field slaves.
- Food
- Most slaves lived in little huts that only had one room. They normally had to share these huts with chickens that they would kill to feed themselves. Some plantations even let slaves have families as any child that is born belongs to the slave owner.
- As a punishment if the captured Africans did anything wrong they were sometimes wipped until, they were bleeding on the ground or they could of been branded by a piece of hot metal.
