- Margie and Tommy talk for a few more minutes. After understanding more about schools in the olden days Margie decides she likes the idea of learning with other children her age. Just then Margie's Mom calls Margie informing her it's time for school.
- It was the year 2155 on May 17th, and on this day 11 yearold Margie had no idea she would discover something amazing
- Remembering how her mechanicalteacher had malfunctioned and given her test after test
- Sometime during the day Margie's friend Tommy came over to show her that he had found a book in his attic
- School? What's there to write about school?
- What's it about? Also,where did you find it?
- Margie I just found a real paper book .
- It's about school. Also I found it in my attic.
- While Tommy and Margie read the book Margie had many questions piling in her head about schools in the olden days. She had never heard of children going to special building to learn or being taught by a human teacher. Like most of the children from her generation ,Margie had always done schooling at home while being taught by a mechanical teacher. Tommy explains to her about schools in the olden days and suddenly Margie feels intimidated that she didn't know any of this before.
- Just a couple more minutes Mama
- Now please!
- Margie it's time for school,and it's probably time for Tommy to go to school as well
- Can we read the book together after school?
- Maybe
- Thinking about children in the olden days and the fun they must have had learning together
- When we add fractions 1/2 and 1/4 we get.....
- I can't wait to read the book with Tommy after school.
